Identities - Coming Out : The real Transgender

It's one thing to say "I know who I am", but a different ball game when you're asked "who are you?" Entry 31.01.24  Early this year, I was at the mall one day, trying to do a survey on a product I needed to procure. I stopped at an aisle scanning the shelf for what I needed, when an elderly man approached me with a tract in his hands. He said: "Jesus loves you," while attempting to hand the tract to me. I immediately responded: "Oh, no thank you, I'm already born again", initially declining his offer of the tract...almost dismissive and trying to continue my scanning.  Then, he asked me a very striking question that I wouldn't forget in a hurry: "So, where is your place in the Kingdom? What is your position in the Kingdom?" He struck a chord that sent a piercing through me with that question and got my full attention. For the first time, I observed the smile and undeniable glow on his face that I can only describe as h...

Hot mess, cleaned up!

12.02.22  Lately, I've been a bit more occupied than usual, and most of the time it keeps me more out of the house than it does inside. I live all by myself in a house a little bit bigger than my small frame can handle its cleaning at a time, and I usually come back spent-out. So sometimes, I defer cleaning for a later time...then, it piles up! And each time I looked around, it feels a bit overwhelming to handle all at once. I decided to clean-up one time, but just a look at the entire place got me tired already : the floor, the window panes, the laundry, the dusty surfaces...'cos it was the harmattan season, ugh! I was tired already! (lol...don't look at me like that 😄). But then, I started off somewhere; from one spot to the other, and the other, and the other...I dusted, I cleaned I mopped; head over to the next spot, repeat. In few hours I was done, I looked around the whole house, it was prime and proper!  Mhen, I was really thankful to God for helping me t...

An Ode to the King

Just like the Psalmist, My heart is indicting a good matter I speak as touching the King My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.   My lips are to the King, Singing and Lauding his praises All day and all night long   My dance is to the King Every twist and every turn Swinging in harmonious move to his name   My heart beats for my King, With every rise and fall in rhythm Resonating in reminiscence of all he has done   My Life is for the King, Wrapped-up like in a bubble Estranged from the noise a l’exterieur   Wound-up and engulfed  in his overwhelming love And distant, in a world where the vogue is to be aware   My eyes are for the King only Gazing at his beauty All in awe of his temple   And I shall dwell In the house of my King For ever and ever, Amen!

Lesson I learned on what it really means to be a Leader.

12.05. 21   Today was the induction ceremony of the first year students into the department. Incidentally, I was privileged to have joined the department as a member of the academic staff shortly before the time under the leadership of one of the most amazing and finest humane woman I’ve ever come across….one of a kind! The time was scheduled for 11am. At the said time, nothing was close to happening, fellow colleagues were already seated and waiting but only very few of the students were in sight. Time was fast passing by…12, 1, 2pm…yet the student president and MC were yet to show up for an event that was scheduled 3 hours earlier and it wouldn't start without them being present. Understandably, members of staff were already agitated and feeling disrespected at the ‘nonchalant’ behaviour of the students towards the event, after all the students were the ones to be seated first before us….not the other way round. At the heat of this tense situation, the Head of the Department made...
